Amitabh Bachchan revealed on Kaun Banega Crorepati that he and Jaya Bachchan decided to marry spontaneously without informing their families. He stated that he simply told Jaya they should get married, she agreed, and the decision was made. Jaya then informed her parents, who agreed. The wedding took place the very next day. Bachchan reflected that such elaborate wedding planning today is unnecessary, preferring the simplicity of his own marriage.
