The Haryana health department has ordered all government health institutions and laboratories across the state to stop issuing handwritten laboratory test reports. This directive follows the practice being flagged in some districts, raising concerns about potential errors and misinterpretation of results. The Director General of Health Services emphasized that all reports must be typed or printed through the prescribed system to ensure patient safety and adherence to proper standards. While handwritten reports are permitted in emergencies or system failures, the issuing personnel must take personal responsibility for accuracy.
