Executive Director Elizabeth Barron stated the foundation has only one full-time employee, herself, supported by part-time contractors and unpaid volunteer board members. Recent critical security flaws highlighted PHP's importance, yet the foundation struggles to manage increased workloads due to AI advancements and a rise in code change proposals.
