कांग्रेस सांसद इमरान मसूद और सपा नेता मुहिबुलह नदवी को दिल्ली पुलिस ने जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया विश्वविद्यालय में छात्र विरोध प्रदर्शन का समर्थन करने की कोशिश करते समय हिरासत में लिया। छात्र छात्र संघ चुनावों की बहाली की मांग कर रहे हैं, यह विरोध जारी है। मसूद ने कहा कि वह परिसर की दीवारों पर लगे 'फ्री कश्मीर' जैसे विवादास्पद नारों का समर्थन नहीं करते हैं, लेकिन चुनावों में देरी पर प्रशासन के रुख पर सवाल उठाते हैं। नदवी ने पुलिस द्वारा दुर्व्यवहार का आरोप लगाया। विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन ने नारे हटा दिए हैं और मामले की जांच कर रहा है, जबकि पुलिस ने परिसर के आसपास बैरिकेडिंग बढ़ा दी है।
