Ahmedabad Demolishes 76 Houses For 2030 Commonwealth Games Road Widening

Ahmedabad's civic body has resumed its demolition drive to widen roads around Narendra Modi Stadium, in preparation for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. On Tuesday, 76 residential units were razed on the road connecting Sabarmati toll naka to the stadium. The existing 18-metre-wide road will be expanded to 61 metres, requiring the acquisition of over 10 government and privately owned plots. This follows the demolition of 54 commercial structures on the same stretch earlier in July. The city is also preparing to bid for the 2036 Olympic Games.

अहमदाबाद का सिविक निकाय 2030 कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की तैयारी के लिए नरेंद्र मोदी स्टेडियम के आसपास सड़कों को चौड़ा करने के लिए अपना विध्वंस अभियान फिर से शुरू कर दिया है। मंगलवार को, स्टेडियम को जोड़ने वाली सड़क पर 76 आवासीय इकाइयों को ध्वस्त कर दिया गया। मौजूदा 18 मीटर चौड़ी सड़क को 61 मीटर तक बढ़ाया जाएगा, जिसके लिए 10 से अधिक सरकारी और निजी स्वामित्व वाली संपत्तियों का अधिग्रहण करना होगा। यह जुलाई की शुरुआत में उसी रास्ते पर 54 वाणिज्यिक ढांचों के विध्वंस के बाद हुआ है। शहर 2036 ओलंपिक खेलों के लिए बोली लगाने की भी तैयारी कर रहा है।
