Xi Jinping Restaurant in South Korea Vandalised by Chinese Nationals

BBC World · world

A restaurant in South Korea named after Chinese leader Xi Jinping was vandalised by a group of Chinese nationals on September 24. Surveillance footage showed four masked men smashing furniture and spraying lacquer at the eatery in Seongnam, a city south of Seoul. The owner stated the name was chosen to signify excellence, not political intent, but had faced increasing demands for a name change over the past year. Police are seeking Interpol red notices for the four suspects, who are believed to have fled to China.
