India to Sign EU FTA by Year-End

India anticipates signing a free trade agreement with the European Union by the end of this year, according to Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal. Negotiations with Canada for a similar FTA are also expected to conclude by year-end. The India-New Zealand FTA is slated to become operational in the second half of October. Agrawal described the EU FTA process as the fastest so far, with the European Commission having sent it for approval.
