Coal India has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan (HURL) to explore a coal gasification-based urea production project. The initial focus will be on assessing technical, commercial, and implementation aspects to prepare a preliminary feasibility report. This collaboration aims to evaluate the viability of the project located in Sindri, Jharkhand. Coal India, a Maharatna PSU, is a major supplier to various industrial sectors, including fertilizers.
