Delhi's Air Quality Remains Moderate Amidst Persistent Fine Particle Pollution

Business Standard · environment

Delhi's air quality index (AQI) stood at 164 on Monday morning, placing it in the 'moderate' category. Fine particulate matter PM2.5 was identified as the primary pollutant across many monitoring stations. While this represents a slight improvement from Sunday's AQI of 167, several areas recorded 'poor' air quality. Moderate air quality can cause breathing discomfort for vulnerable groups, and prolonged exposure to poor air can affect a wider population. The Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) Stage 1 remains invoked, restricting certain activities.
